Public AI directory

Opt channels into the open, anonymous, AI-readable product directory.

The public directory is Catalyte's open, anonymous, AI-readable index of every product its merchants have chosen to share. It's how an agent that doesn't know your brand can still discover what you sell.

Opt in

Listing is per channel. In Channels, toggle Public AI directory on a channel; only that channel's collection is exposed. Toggle off and the products vanish within a minute.

Default off

Nothing is ever published until you flip the switch. Pricing, inventory, and metadata are all opt-in per channel.

How agents reach it

  • MCP — anonymous server at /api/public/v1/discover/mcp.
  • REST — /discover/products and /discover/merchants.
  • Web — server-rendered pages at /discover with JSON-LD product schema for crawlers.

MCP tools

  • search_products — full-text search with filters.
  • get_product — by merchant + SKU.
  • list_merchants — paginated.
  • get_merchant — profile and channels.

SEO

Each merchant gets a canonical page at /discover/<handle> and each product at /p/<handle>/<sku>. Both are server-rendered with OpenGraph and JSON-LD Product schema, and listed in the directory sitemap.
